I love Hooteroll? As sixteen year old it was a revelation. It was an early glimpse that there was more to Jerry Garcia than the straight jacket he wore in the dead.
  Swag For Life Member 9:26pm
Bruce S.:

Jerry's solo work is just as good as his dead stuff

This is the same Simmons as Sonny Simmons pretty sure. Hard jazz.

I saw Ornette when he did Primetime at the Westwood Playhouse. Flanked by two bass players and two drummers with him in the middle on the set of what looked like a living room in a sitcom. It was like a whacky dream, but it was real!

Not sure how long Alan Price stuck around ...always heard he had writing credit for Rising Sun & made bucks & they all resented it ! Hence him hanging solo w/ Dylan in 'Don't Look Back' for instance ?? Did good stuff under his own name...

This may very well be my favorite show you've done since taking over the midnight-3 slot last summer. I've missed a few here and there, and the one you closed with Frankie Crisp rivals it closely (I wanna say back in October/November) but someone's gotta say it: this has been a masterpiece on the 3-hour free-form radio canvas!
