Senor Headache:

Okay, okay, here’s my Doug Ingle story:

I saw Iron Butterfly play the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis on a balmy spring evening in 1988 with Tim and Jane. The venue was maybe 1/3 filled. Maybe. They closed with “Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida”.

After the show we waited outside the backstage door for the band to emerge. A slight rain was falling. Doug Ingle was out of the door first. Tim, Jane and I told him how much we liked the show and I handed him a scrap of paper and a pen. (Where’d I get the pen?) He sign his name and under it he wrote: “God be with ya.”

He thanked us then climbed into a waiting van with the rest of the band and was gone.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm
Gaylord Fields:

To answer Franco's question upthread on Ira's behalf, I recall Leslie Uggams having a summer replacement variety series, not a sitcom. The one thing I distinctly remember is that her theme song was Jacke DeShannon's "Put a Little Love in Your Heart."
  10:19pm

John Lennon on Jazz: "Jazz," he said, "is just a lot of old blokes drinking beer at the bar, smoking pipes and not listening to the music."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Beatletard Moment: John the WorkingClass Hero was @ the same time the most middle class of them - went to Art School & considered himself in those terms. Whereas his complicated family life let's say drove him to express everything in first person terms... Macca was actually into the AvantGarde ahead of him ! In many respects. But Paul as sort of like what he should do to 'better himself'...
