Also, gay clubs and white urban trend riders made early disco much more than only black dance music, I'm pretty sure.

There's much of the 70s disco that gives me a smile and kick now. I like SNF as something to idly ponder and examine. When I first saw it, months after its biggest hype, it was better than I expected. Looking at repeatedly over the years it's good for: scenes of an older New York; noting how awful and lame some of the dancing actually is; noting how how clunky and low the production level is, to both better and worse effect.
And favorite scenes and lines. Discussing Romeo and Juliet suicides at the coffee shop, Tony thinks Romeo "could have waited." Stephanie: "It's the way they took poison in those days."

I suppose I'm also a fan of New Order. The music is ordinary, but the production and sound are pretty terrific.

... i just know that Tchaikovski was the first classical composer i got into, as a child, and when i started discovering other composers he seemed very elementary...which makes sense to me.
