Favoriting January 29, 2019: RIP Michel Legrand
Morricone Island pays tribute to French child prodigy pianist and composer of over 200 soundtracks Michel Legrand passed away at 86 on Saturday, best known for his 1968 Oscar-winning "Windmills of Your Mind" from The Thomas Crown Affair and Jacques Demy's Palme D'Or-winning 1964 The Umbrellas of Cherbourg working with the likes of musicians Miles Davis, Getz, Coltrane, Ray Charles, Streisand and Maurice Chevalier and filmmakers Godard, Altman, Louis Malle, Orson Wells and Claude Lelouch.
