Favoriting January 22, 2019: DAVID SCHECTER of Monstrous Movie Music (Pt. 2)
Monstrous Movie Music is a CD label specializing in previously unavailable 1940s-1970s film music of the finest composers working that era even though most are virtually unknown. MMM's initial releases were "re-recordings" faithfully restored and orchestrated by the label's co-founder Kathleen Mayne, before eventually releasing original soundtracks as well, all with striking covers painted by horror artist Robert Aragon and science fiction illustrator Vincent DiFate and meticulously researched liner notes by owner David Schecter who discusses the label's history for a second week. Please revisit Pt. 1 from 1/15/2019.

The Blob should be in the National Film Registry for so many good reasons, especially because it is emblematic of its genre.

Mom deffo lost the battle to not sit so close to the screens...
I was defending George Martin's Yellow Submarine music w/ Beatlepersons...I think some people still haven't picked up on Soundtrack as a Genre - even as Pop has looong been accepted as Classic as a Truism...

So years ago, I was in a 'gentleman's club' enjoying the entertainment when two young ladies sat down next to me. "We're lesbians," they said. "We have something in common, then," I (should have) said.
