	4:39pm Otis Fodder: Holy Tire Iron tapes on Discogs, www.discogs.com... Holy Tire Iron was a 90s audio zine project by Reverend Raye, from West Somerville, Massachusetts. One would call the phone number and listen to the stories that others had left on the machine. It was not a 900 service, so if you were outside of the Boston area you had to pay for long distance phone charges. There was no advertising, the 'message changed every day,' and was made up of what callers called in. It was active for a number of years in the early-mid 1990s. The motto was "Inspiration is only a phone call away" and Raye called it free public media and added "Would you like fries with your art?"

	4:46pm Archivist Vivian: Weird Al Yankovic and a friend of his operated an anonymous joke hotline in Downey CA in the mid 70s called the Zygot line.
	4:47pm Archivist Vivian: There's a tape posted on Youtube from that line of Al and his friend, Mike Solton, performing a parody of Randy Newman's "Short People", calling it "Zyg Callers", about the people who called in.

She used to collect all sorts of crazy messages left on her machine by people who thought that Slash had actually slipped up and gotten his name in the phone book. I'll bug her again and see if we can find it.

	4:39pm Otis Fodder: Holy Tire Iron tapes on Discogs, www.discogs.com... Holy Tire Iron was a 90s audio zine project by Reverend Raye, from West Somerville, Massachusetts. One would call the phone number and listen to the stories that others had left on the machine. It was not a 900 service, so if you were outside of the Boston area you had to pay for long distance phone charges. There was no advertising, the 'message changed every day,' and was made up of what callers called in. It was active for a number of years in the early-mid 1990s. The motto was "Inspiration is only a phone call away" and Raye called it free public media and added "Would you like fries with your art?"
