Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am

Lots of "Nuggets" type stuff too, liked that Midnight Hour.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am

Heard that Cherry Slush cut on XM not too long ago. Cool song.

Odd to hear Doors covered. Haven't heard many (aside from Light My Fire).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am
Funky16Corners:

Yeah, this is unusual, too. The flip side of this is a cover of a Motown tune.

When they sing "Louise," it sounds like that Cherry Slush song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am
Funky16Corners:

That was originally done by a guy named Keith Allison who was a regular with the Raiders on Where the Action Is. I think the Raiders used the same backing track

This is supposed to be our siesta, Larry. (Like Spain and Italy, Greece pretty much shuts down from 3-7pm to chillax during the high heat.) But instead, I am blasting this spectacular episode of Testify!

@Doug: If work isn't killing me, I siesta when possible. Even my Mexi wife doesn't do it (and it's no longer practiced in Mexico, but I feel it's a keen idea!

I think that our glorious leader will be so relaxed that he cannot lift a stylus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am
Funky16Corners:

@ndbob - It's late period Sonics and I'm not sure who's singing. It's not Gerry Roslie
  11:33am
Doug Schulkind:

The only Greeks within earshot of this gasser of a show are a few goats, one gorgeous all-black heifer, and a bazillion blue-tailed lizards. As you would expect, the lizards are digging the shit out of your selections.

Howdy, ndbob!
Avatar 11:36am
ndbob:

@Larry I figured - would never have guessed that was them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am
Uncle Michael:

I'd like a heavy-pounder with cheese. In Greece that's called a Feta Royale.
  11:37am
Doug Schulkind:

@NGH
Americans are too butt-stupid to ever become acculturated to practicing siesta.
  11:38am
Doug Schulkind:

The inevitability of ordering one of those is a feta complete.

I think that red vinyl Remains reissue in the early '80s put them on our generation's map.

I was learning to read in the '60s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am

@Doc - There's a pretty clear line down the middle of the British Invasion betrween bands that were obsessed with Chess blues and bands that du American soul and R&B. The Beatles did a bunch of soul covers early on.
