English lyrics of Chavela Vargas' "Soledad": Solitude
It was a starless night when you left me
With so much grief and so much pain.
Solitude…
Since the day you left a ghostly silence
Has fallen over the town
Solitude…
The creeks are dry, and in the streets a thousand
Echoes scream at me endlessly
Solitude… Come back already
Come back
