A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Trouble, I went to a secret DIY performance in an old cement mine, in honor of the solstice, up in Kingston!
Was really amazing, first the total darkness we walked through, then the lanterns that were lit that had our resolutions on them and set adrift on the water filled tunnels.
It feels important to create our own customs

@Melinda: it's a little dangerous when it's iced over, but otherwise open, and it's the only publicly open mine of the dozens of former cement mines in Ulster County. It's an amazing space - I play music in there a lot, and the vast majority of it is under water.

I don't know, Brian, but soon I'm going to attempt what Mother used to make for Grandpa & Grandma when they visited: baked rice pudding. I recently moved into a house w an electric oven, which is very easy to use. Previously all I'd had were gas ovens & electric broilers, and the only times I ever lit a gas oven were ~40 yrs. ago to broil with.
