googled: "Top of the morning to you" The phrase is Irish in origin but now very rarely used in Ireland (except as a sterotypical "Irishism"). It simply means "the best of the morning to you" - perhaps from the idea of unhomogenised milk, where the cream rises to the top.Dec 12, 201
@matt ww- well you wished it all away to marcel. hindsight is 20/20

Hey Matt, what's the story with the band, Guru Guru that you're playing now ? First time I've heard them. Pretty rockin' ! They remind me of early Pink Floyd ?
Currently dancing naked through the streets with my hands waving above my head. Please take this set in a different direction before I am carted off by the authorities.
Guru Guru are still around and still German -- they're not quite as interesting as they were in the beginning, but their drummer is still worth coming to a gig to see.
Rest In Power Alan Vega. Lucky I got to see him at an WFMU variety concert at Southpaw in Brooklyn, oh so many years back...'08? '09? He did a live song with Onidea, to boot. It was incredible. Thanks to FMU.
"Why Can't We Live Together?" by Timmy Thomas. Yes. Very much. We still need this song now more than ever. This playlist is looking good, going to have to listen to the whole show.
The only thing I gleaned beyond the lifted speech was Stephen Colbert's quote:
“This week, you and me, we will witness history / As the R.N.C. crowns their orange manatee.”
Prague is one of the few European cities that did not get leveled in WWII, so there's still lots of beautiful old architecture to see here.

@Brian: Heavy Metal, the movie, is not as good as it could/should have been, it originated as an ambitious attempt to animate some of the stories from the original French Science Fiction comics anthology magazine, which was then being published in a translated edition by the National Lampoon company. They produced the movie in the wake of the huge success of their "Animal House". The animation studios that were available to do the work at the time were nowhere near as sophisticated as nowadays. So adjust your expectations accordingly. Also: the movie does include the immortal Don Felder track, and some other decent musical bits.
But then you could say the same thing about, say, Predator, and I like that, so I guess I'm a hypocrite. IDK, something about dumb 80s action movies seems more honest. Hiding it behind animation... it seems even sleazier somehow yet more pretentious. Does that make a lick of sense? Probably not.
It wasn't as good as the comics. There's a wonderful Berni Wrightson story whose ending gets changed to leave a bad taste in your mouth. I was a very regular reader of the comics and was quite disappointed.

Thanks, Mister Garbage Man.
Still on the fence about Billy Edd...
