	10:15am annie: wow, bob, that must have been very cool. i love the imagery of "WoD"; also love "Far Away, so Close", the follow-up. it was cool reading the user comments on YT.there were no subtitles, but i dug the whole thing having seen it like 10 times. just wish i could have heard the monologue (in english)by the trapeze artist at the end. if i recall it was quite stirring

What I loved most was his section on the birth and growth of Vegas. Something just really grabs me about that whole scene, even though I am not drawn personally to its values (cf. Seth McFarlaine).

The next morning at breakfast he asks another prisoner why everyone laughed when someone yelled "58". The other prisoner said that the same jokes get handed around and end up being assigned numbers. After a few months he had learned a good bit of these jokes and one night yells out "36!", which he knows is a particularly funny joke but is met by dead silence. The next morning he asks one of his fellow prisoners why no one laughed, since it is a particularly funny joke. The prisoner replied, "Some people just don't know how to tell a joke."

	3:04pm Rich in Washington: I used to work at this shitkicker restaurant and lounge and every Saturday and Sunday morning used to have to muck out the empty lounge before all the drunks came shuffling back in. The juke box was my salvation. The guy that stocked it and collected the coins not only showed me how to make it play for free but also gave me the codes for the dozen or so records that weren't listed on the menu - mostly rock music.

	3:04pm Rich in Washington: I used to work at this shitkicker restaurant and lounge and every Saturday and Sunday morning used to have to muck out the empty lounge before all the drunks came shuffling back in. The juke box was my salvation. The guy that stocked it and collected the coins not only showed me how to make it play for free but also gave me the codes for the dozen or so records that weren't listed on the menu - mostly rock music.
