Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from February 19, 2016 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Yes, I watched it too after Uncle Michael's recommendation. It is one of things that can be done more easily these days with digitized sound, sampling and editing, but to do it analog is impressive.

Seems a bit much to consider "Baby It's Cold Outside" as a date rape opener...that's the kind of thing that gets the Republican PC crew going...

Lane, Mazel Tov, whatever that means. Hope the grandbaby is okay during the flight.

Wait. Wasn't there a line about "what's in this drink?"?
That's crossing the line into Cosbyland.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm
Parq:

Doc, my point exactly. That kind of humorless, earnest take-no-prisoners approach to progressive ideas is what's made it easy for the right to use PC as code for "racism, sexism and homophobia are okay."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm
Uncle Michael:

Back when that was written, the answer would be "a whole lot of liquor."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm

Lane, everybody says that. I disagree. It's simply "how much vodka did you put into this?" I don't think that roofies or mickies were what Loesser had in mind at all.
