I was also envious of kids on Sesame Street, in the occasional filmed segments where they went about the city doing stuff on their own, with nice music in the background. Such freedom.

	9:00pm slugluv1313: @ melinda -- where i grew up, there was a farm behind my parents' property -- and what we did not grow in our own backyard, we got from this farmer's roadside stand (which was really just a few backyards away) -- 1st time i had a store-bought tomato -- YUCK! like eating cardboard! unfortunately though we really did not have huge pastures near my house, was already getting pretty suburban :( @ JakeGould -- i was born and raised and will probably DIE in NJ! i am in Hoboken now, SO bizarre, i am one of those surviving few who moved here late 1970s/early 1980s when you could not PAY people to live here! but, there still ARE nice places is NJ -- just kinda gotta search

	9:13pm JakeGould: @LindaLee: I remember Dave’s Luncheonette only from a trip I made with my mom and dad to a garment factory for my mom to get work. Was at an open studio tour recently and was stopped in my tracks when I realized the building I was in most likely was the place I went to as a kid when it was still a factory. @slugluv1313: Canal Rubber is still there but sadly one of the few left. It’s all turning into SoHo south right now.

	9:14pm Ahmad: I've only been to Silent Barn a couple times but they were easily two of my best NYC experiences and the few people who I know that worked/lived there are some of the nicest/most dedicated people I ever met. Donate if you can!

SMDH . . .
