Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

@UM: Not sure your winters are all the colder than ours. We're in an urban setting, which warms things up. In fact, if I recall the weather maps of the PV debacle in Jan., etc., we were punished worse by it than the middle prairie states.

I enjoy thinking about and preparing dinner most nights. The two kids are no problem, since they eat about three dishes, although they love my Bolognese, but that takes all day.

First time I heard Send in the Clowns it was delivered by Glynis Johns. I was 15 and saw A Little Night Music on the Broadway. Her celebrity as the mom years earlier in Mary Poppins was more notable to me at the time than the song, though I did like the show.
