Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

Petey was a WMFU message board poster in its waning days, when Raad_Man was around and Tom's board was new.
I should probably not have this much to say about this.
That was around when Ken pulled the plug on the whole thing because, in his immortal words, "it wasn't even stupid anymore."

Yeah the WFMU message boards were...um...something.
Honestly worse than even the typical crappy message boards of that or any era. Really bad.
Of course the good thing is that out of necessity these playlist comments boards were board in their place. These are really beautiful little set pieces. (I've rolled around in my head the concept of a "best of the comments board premium/prize" of some sort. I really do think there's a good chunk of found art on these.
I'm also honest enough to admit that I have contributed almost zero of this found art in spite of my voluminous comments.

@Aharon: you may already know this, but the UK edition of "Rip It Up" has ~100 additional pages. Why? I don't know, and Simon Reynolds claims even HE doesn't know. So if you have the U.S. version, it might be worthwhile to track down the other one.

@Danne: I feel like it's always a bloody fight to the finish, and that you've come out ahead more than a few times. But who's counting? (Clearly not I)
@PB(N)J (if that's what you go by): Yeah, the Aharonians are probably Armenians...a wholly different oppressed minority, with better cooking!
