	10:08am dale: i haven't purchased music in ages. my donations here have become my music purchases. although a chain called FYE has used vinyl and i was holding janis ians first on verve and todd rundgren 'todd' in my hands for about 20 minutes before i put them back

	10:09am LovecraftDude888: Dale: yikes. I'm buying fewer and fewer CDs and vinyl, even. Here and there, though. FYE I found was a bit expensive, like Sam Goody's of old but better selection. I'm not even sure if the LI ones are still going...I think a few. They're ok.
	10:10am LovecraftDude888: I just got the Velvets WH deluxe and M Feldman CD Aki Takahashi cause...I needed to own the genuine item of those. Otherwise....forget it.
	10:11am LovecraftDude888: I also love that I can get certain box sets nowadays cheap used...whereas, in the 1990s...forget it. I got The Jam box set for $30 2 yrs. ago, at some local shoppe.
	10:12am dale: most vinyl is one or two ninety nine. not bad, but they are sealed so you can't see condition. usually i hold something, put it down and come home and hear it on youtube and am glad i didn't bother.
	10:13am LovecraftDude888: I still need that Janis Ian first reissue...gotta get that one on CD at least. That's well worth owning in any form. I know I was doing a fair amount of vinyl restore here on the PC but I have slacked off a lot. And I don't own a really high end table.

Anyhoo..i think the CD of that janis ian is better since it was fully restored or remastered in the mid or late 90s or even again recently. I think. Or a good copy of the vinyl for sure, a good table, and a good preamp or amp...wohooo!

	10:27am Guido (Cologne): Ah yes ... with second album Shadow Morton stopped taking care and she overtook the production job. (She later -first carrer break- became sound engineer.) Society's Child double CD was expensive here. but the albums seem to be back as single issues.

	10:30am Ike: Some new places are popping up on W. 8th St. lately. Went to a Malaysian place, Rasa, on 8th the other night. Very good food, slow service. There's also excellent but pricey custard at a place called 5 Oz. Factory.

The last storm here, my building staff did a fairly good job, but the town...not so great on the side roads and things. So it becomes a whole driving hazard mess, and they just are not equipped.. 	10:12am dale: most vinyl is one or two ninety nine. not bad, but they are sealed so you can't see condition. usually i hold something, put it down and come home and hear it on youtube and am glad i didn't bother.
