You pay more to mail it from the US, but the only time I was asked to pay any extra (this is years ago mind you) was when the postage costs didn't cover shipping. When shipping as an individual, you have to declare what's in the package for customs, and supply a rough estimate of cost when shipping, but there isn't really a mechanism for customs to verify this when it arrives in the UK. I don't know the specifics for mailing from a business though, like WFMU.

You pay more to mail it from the US, but the only time I was asked to pay any extra (this is years ago mind you) was when the postage costs didn't cover shipping. When shipping as an individual, you have to declare what's in the package for customs, and supply a rough estimate of cost when shipping, but there isn't really a mechanism for customs to verify this when it arrives in the UK. I don't know the specifics for mailing from a business though, like WFMU.
