They asked why - I said because you never know what will happen in the future. It's not good to kick a robot dog nor tell a chatbot things that you wouldn't want to happen to you. Thats my thoughts anyways.

You don't want to ultimately gradually transition to kicking actual dogs. As absurd as that may sound now, you don't know what may change in the future.
