	12:19pm drr: I disliked the cover art on DTAS. Just made me think, "this is not a band I would like".
	12:19pm clarke: i'm pretty all-in, but not in 'mats mode in recent years, curiously.
	12:20pm Figgsrock: I always liked DTAS, mostly because that was the first Mats album to come out while I was in college.
	12:20pm courtneynoir: I'm pro-about-2/3rds of Don't Tell A Soul and I'm being generous - and I'm a HUGE 'Mats fan so it takes a lot for me to admit even that :)

	12:20pm Hughie Considine: I concur, @Dano. I also liked Warehouse: Songs and Stories, which got a similar reaction from hardcore fans of Husker Du. Despite the overly clean production, both bands were writing some of their very best songs once they finally had been at it for awhile and signed toi major labels.

	12:28pm WoodsOfNH (now Maine): The Husker Du records (New Day Rising in particular) have a modern parallel with what Brendan O'Brian did with Springsteen's "Magic" LP. Bass completely torn out and mids/highs just compressed all to hell.

	12:37pm Hughie Considine: I love that my hometown of Tenafly was home to many big names like Lesley Gore, Paul Anka, Jimmy Dean among them. Glen Miller too. And of course the Lord-Alges. And Tenafly is a stone's throw from the Van Gelder Studio and Sugar Hill Records in Englewood. So much musical history on that side of the Hudson.
	12:38pm Meesalikeu: @woodsyes i worry about bruce’s hearing, mental health and maybe alzheimers too. but western stars is the best record in years and has the best sound of any of his records, except for seeger sessions and the ties that bind (proto river single album). those three are his only great studio records in term of sound (although seeger was recorded live).

According to the Sun, "Police said that they were unable to positively identify the body due to the level of decomposition." That would suggest he was likely killed sometime the week before.

	12:49pm Hughie Considine: @Meesalikeu I was a college student when Bruce and the E Street Band were rehearsing for The River tour in a studio in Litiitz, PA. A bunch of us went over and stood outside the studio and eventually he invited us all inside and they played the Mitch Ryder medley.

Only those that they can talk the Federal Government into paying for. High blue state taxes pay for things the red states get the Feds to pay for. That's how the red states keep the taxes low. My wife would like to move back to New Orleans, but I feel like it's not a place with a future.

	2:56pm drr: Androu: I'd say nah, not really. They did some improvements on Bourbon Street (a street only an insane person would attempt to drive on).
	2:56pm clarke: the drainage system depends on these huge pumps. i don't know about this year, but last year, they had two pumps down for maintenance at the height of hurricane season. there is no oversight, here, and everyone is just trying to grab a piece of corrupt money.

Despite the overly clean production, both bands were writing some of their very best songs once they finally had been at it for awhile and signed toi major labels.

According to the Sun, "Police said that they were unable to positively identify the body due to the level of decomposition." That would suggest he was likely killed sometime the week before.
