The Mattiel show was excellent. Sound was really spot-on, and their energy was fantastic. Young crowd! Chatted with the band a bit after the show (and got a signed [baby blue!] 7"), and they were so glad to be on the road and in NYC. Talked a little radio, too, and let them know that WFMU loves them. AND we caught the bus immediately when leaving!

I remember -- I must have been 8 or so -- Pat Boone had a midday Mike Douglasy talk show and had his daughters ("the Monkees played by the Boones -- here are the Baboones" -- play Valleri. I don't remember how credible the cover was.
