November 6, 2020: Stacey Abrams for Secretary of Whatever the Fuck She Wants
This radio show denounces explicit and implicit racism. It condemns the culture of White supremacy, which enables the brutalization of Black people and other communities of color. It supports Black Lives Matter and the movement it stands for. |

The Democratic Party is far to the right of my political persuasion, but I live in the real world and understand the real consequences of power, and I act accordingly.

I'm staying away from the cute stuff today. One, it didn't seem appropriate, but two, I'm too freaking superstitious to play around with that mojo.

She finally got seated at the 1968 convention. But in '64, the Democrats prohibited her attempt to integrate the all-white (of course) party delegation.

I was digging Mighty Sparrow since before Irwin was born. (Not really.) I provided Irwin with a copy of this tune when he was trawling for Presidential theme music.

My first foray into politics was during the McGovern campaign in 1972. My sister and I went to campaign headquarters to do some envelope stuffing. The headquarters was in the Watergate Hotel. It was two weeks after the "plumbers" got caught breaking in. As my sister and I headed into the building a security guard said to us, with a chuckle, "You all better keep quiet, the place might be bugged."

Obama's speech on Race in Philadelphia was historic. The speech was given, in part, to flush the news cycle that was rampaging over his comments about Pennsylvanians bitterly clinging to their guns and religion.

Not a long shot, as far as I can tell. She won't replace Schumer as the highest-ranking Democrat in the senate, but she could replace him in the senate. That would be a brilliant thing.
