Here's hoping that we'll go from Bernstein's Symphony #2 - "Age of Anxiety" to "Happy Days Are Here Again".

Hey all!

Devon E. Levins:

Martinibomb, we pushed my planned guest tonight realizing it was Election Night and probably not the best night to promote a new album - ha ha likely 11/24
  7:17pm
Martinibomb:

I was looking forward to your guest! But ... this is a rather good way to spend election evening. :)

I love what Christopher from the Sopranos said about "Thirteen Days" when Paulie mentions the Cuban missile crisis to him: "That was real? I saw that movie, I thought it was bullshit."
  7:28pm
Martinibomb:

I watched Pressure Point last night which has a soundtrack by Ernest Gold not really a political film but it tackles some of the issues that people who are in right wing militias have - Sid Poitier and Bobby Darin (bobby plays a nazi)

The best movie president is Jordan Lyman (Frederic March) in "Seven Days in May". Prove me wrong.

Ah, "Mailbox," that's the ringtone I need!

Clearly, you haven't seen Idiocracy.

Peter Sellers as the president in "Strangelove"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm

...or Being There.
Avatar 7:38pm
Richard S:

Are those people good *presidents*, or just good roles? Could you see them actually winning an election? Would you vote for them if you had the chance?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
ultradamno:

This year? Absolutely.
Avatar 7:40pm
Richard S:

Well..... since you put it that way....(grin)

Our "reality" is like a script that should have been rejected
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm
mariano:

ultradamno: Ooh, good one. "Being There" is so good, it has held up so well, and it was so prophetic. If only we'd gotten a Chauncey Gardner instead of whosits though. Or even Jack Warden.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm
ultradamno:

Nobody ever thought of Jerzy Kosiński as being optimistic at the time, but that is definitely the sunnier vision of how it played out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm

Thanks Devon and FMU crew.

Romper Stomper was interesting. Very young Russell Crowe as a skinhead.
