Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35am
Jeff Golick:

The Seven Storey part? Not at the performance, but I think he's written about it. I'll try to find a link...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36am
Jeff Golick:

Here ya go: "ECSTATICISM: It's a term coined by Nate Wooley for the hoped achievements of his seven part song cycle for large ensemble, Seven Storey Mountain. Although named after Thomas Merton's self-referential religious tract, the project, now approaching its ten year anniversary has only an oblique connection to any sense of religious or mystical ephemera. Instead, the SSM compositions work to create a sense of ecstatic joy and emotional release that is purely human; made by people for people."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39am
Jeff Golick:

Wassup wassup, @holland oats!

And to you and yours, @doctorjazz! Are you still sitting shiva?
Avatar 🥁 9:41am
Listener Gregory:

@DJpeter, "Storey" refers to the floors of a building (or mountain, apparently), as opposed to "story." However, the latter spelling is getting more common for both meanings, sadly. I blame Millennials.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am
Jeff Golick:

@DJpeterDE: I think it's just an alternate spelling (British) of "story."
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:43am

That last bit of engineering was like transporting the singers from a church to a living room
Avatar 🥁 10:02am
Listener Gregory:

Because the people demand it, I looked up story/storey in the OED. They don't mark the spellings as British & American. The development of the sense referring to floors of a building is "obscure," but might derive from a row of painted windows or statures called "historia" in Latin, because it told a story or history (?).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am
Jeff Golick:

Hey, @fred. Is there another way to go about that? Can the intern work remotely until not contagious??
