Nationally New York City rock seems to have suffered a bit of an identity crisis in the mid- and late '60s. I guess you could say the same of any rock that wasn't West Coast in that time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm

I think people tend to associate NYC with an earlier sound, doowop and R&B adjacent.
Avatar 3:48pm

My Jersey Pastrami research project continues. I still have Lox, Stock, and Deli as number 1. Harold's was close, but not quite as good, and more expensive. There's one called Pastrami and Pickles, not as good as those 2. Next on my list to try is Goldman's Deli and Restaurant in Berkely Heights, but having trouble getting there during hours they're open.
And...hi. (Velvets!!!!!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm

Heard Garland Jeffreys -- another New York guy -- cover this Lou Reed song a couple of years ago. Did a nice job with it.

Despite being a VU fanboy I have never listened to the derided "Squeeze" LP. Have you heard it, Larry? Doug Yule's patched-together session.
