Portable - beautiful sound & range of tones ...& what they call a responsive medium: not too hard to play & responds to you... Then electricity came & it more than met the challenge in volume! But this also associated it with impolite aggresdion - & stereotypically males... Its phallic yet curvy...: hyper fetishized. So a lot of things feeding into the Chauvinism of it being stereotypically male. & yet - a provenance that says there ARE NO RULES, really - so there !

Guitar was - to borrow from Austin Powers- the village bicycle & everyone had a ride : found in barber shops & the like. Eventually became a parlour instrument. Portable - beautiful sound & range of tones ...& what they call a responsive medium: not too hard to play & responds to you... Then electricity came & it more than met the challenge in volume! But this also associated it with impolite aggresdion - & stereotypically males... Its phallic yet curvy...: hyper fetishized. So a lot of things feeding into the Chauvinism of it being stereotypically male. & yet - a provenance that says there ARE NO RULES, really - so there !
