	♥ 12:36am coelacanth∅: i thought about taking lithium, just for the hell of it. our store sold lithium supplements that weren't selling. i was told i'd only notice anything from lithium if i had specific conditions, so i didn't bother. the store owner likely threw them into his vegetable garden, as he did with all expired supplements.

Today I was talking to a friend about a nutty girlfriend he once had, and he told me she was on lithium,which had dire consequenses. He wanted to basically start spreading the word, till the studio and his agent put the kibosh on that one. Of course, when I was a teenager it was probably $2-3/hit and I was getting ripped off lol.

I think the most interesting (or at least unlikely) one I've read about was when Aleister Crowley gave Theodore Dreiser mescaline in NYC. Crowley was really into mescaline, used to throw parties. And apparently he was getting it from a pharma company in Detroit, sold under the name anhalonium.

I was really tempted, but it had big chunks rolling around inside and you couldn't take it apart and clean it, so I had to pass. He was kind of insistent, and I tried to explain what would happen to me if I got caught with it. He couldn't understand. Probably never been out of North Vietnam.

	2:40am slugluv1313: oooooo i missed all the drug talk! re: lithium -- i knew someone who was on it for bipolar disorder (back when it was called "manic depression") and she had to be monitered very closely -- eventually she was able to stop taking it though, and used alternative medicines, therapies, etc. damn! never had opium in those forms! jealous :) (although have used other, ahem, derivatives) probably would not do acid again -- although possibly mescaline or mushrooms -- but even then, would have to be the right time, environment, etc. @ mariano -- re: angel dust -- EXACTLY! someone i know literally ran through the streets (LA? San Fransisco? i know it was when he was living in California), no clothes, took a bunch of police to catch him and subdue him, to this day i am grateful that they did NOT hurt him rumor has it that Owsley dosed the coffee at the studios for "Playboy After Dark" when they Grateful Dead (!) appeared -- story goes that Hef only drank Pepsi, which he kept locked up and guarded by Shel Silverstein -- but Barbi Benton looks like she is high outta her mind -- i will see if i can find the video (and NO, i do not think it is "cool"to dose unsuspecting people -- geez, someone could have a nervous breakdown, or worse)

	2:54am slugluv1313: haha! a friend sent me a youtube link to Deep Purple performing at Hef's "mansion" (i believe it was a studio built to look like his place) -- and i have been obsessing ever since -- Canned Heat (with Alan Wilson!), Ike and Tina Turner, Sweetwater, The Cowsills (Susan dances way better than ANYONE!), Iron Butterfly (or, "The Iron Butterfly," as Hefner calls them!), Grand Funk Railroad, Steppenwolf, etc. . . . some are lip-synced, others are live but i find all of it so surreal! these contemporary cool rock bands playing to these super-dorky people trying desperately to be "hip" -- too funny!

	♥ 1:57am Franco Twinkie: I was in Hanoi and this guy had a beautiful opium pipe with a silver bowl and all this fancy carving that he wanted to sell. I was really tempted, but it had big chunks rolling around inside and you couldn't take it apart and clean it, so I had to pass. He was kind of insistent, and I tried to explain what would happen to me if I got caught with it. He couldn't understand. Probably never been out of North Vietnam.

	2:40am slugluv1313: oooooo i missed all the drug talk! re: lithium -- i knew someone who was on it for bipolar disorder (back when it was called "manic depression") and she had to be monitered very closely -- eventually she was able to stop taking it though, and used alternative medicines, therapies, etc. damn! never had opium in those forms! jealous :) (although have used other, ahem, derivatives) probably would not do acid again -- although possibly mescaline or mushrooms -- but even then, would have to be the right time, environment, etc. @ mariano -- re: angel dust -- EXACTLY! someone i know literally ran through the streets (LA? San Fransisco? i know it was when he was living in California), no clothes, took a bunch of police to catch him and subdue him, to this day i am grateful that they did NOT hurt him rumor has it that Owsley dosed the coffee at the studios for "Playboy After Dark" when they Grateful Dead (!) appeared -- story goes that Hef only drank Pepsi, which he kept locked up and guarded by Shel Silverstein -- but Barbi Benton looks like she is high outta her mind -- i will see if i can find the video (and NO, i do not think it is "cool"to dose unsuspecting people -- geez, someone could have a nervous breakdown, or worse)

	2:54am slugluv1313: haha! a friend sent me a youtube link to Deep Purple performing at Hef's "mansion" (i believe it was a studio built to look like his place) -- and i have been obsessing ever since -- Canned Heat (with Alan Wilson!), Ike and Tina Turner, Sweetwater, The Cowsills (Susan dances way better than ANYONE!), Iron Butterfly (or, "The Iron Butterfly," as Hefner calls them!), Grand Funk Railroad, Steppenwolf, etc. . . . some are lip-synced, others are live but i find all of it so surreal! these contemporary cool rock bands playing to these super-dorky people trying desperately to be "hip" -- too funny!
