Hello Doug and All, Loved that last set! I've seen a lot of Egyptian themed vintage clothing and have a pretty cool Egyptian themed (lots of cool graphics) dress. I always wondered what was behind that.

Ow wow, what a document is Blues and the Abstract Truth! Back in 1980, I produced a radio piece for my college station covering the Iranian Hostage Crisis. Without conscious intention the intro and outro music I used for the piece was "Stolen Moments" from that LP. I've felt kinda dumb about it for 40 years.

I can beat that, Doug. I did music for a high school stage production of Man for All Seasons. For one scene I used a then recently released faux-Renaissance progressive rock track, which wasn't so bad, but I also used an excerpt of a Telemann chamber work, which was hella anachronistic. To top it off, the cover of the Telemann LP, which I still have and continue to play, features a painting by Degas!?

Spearman's memorial took place in the funeral home behind my house. Before we moved in, alas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am
Doug Schulkind:

Was it a Day-Glo Degas, Dean?

Belatedly mentioning that Dolphy plays on a number of Oliver Nelson's small-group albums, which are underrated. IMHO.

Joe walked in to the Record Fair one year.
