It was then revealed to me that all the proceeds from sales in June went to two worthy causes. But here’s where it gets weird: TODAY—JUNE 5TH—Bandcamp waives their fee, so all the money is straight up DONATION to these causes!
It all seemed so real!

We are both in tears here. This is going to be a long show.
Thanks, friend!
That's my partner Kate's band. And today is our twenty-first anniversary. And we have spent all day drawing attention to the causes that she and the band are supporting with the sales for this month.
And, you know, just being absolutely raw.
So, so glad to have a place like this and to be a part of the WFMU community.
Oh, man, I was hoping to make it to the first mic break before crying.
All sympathies, Rob Kopp.

Anyone acts like a putz, no bagels.
Someone acted like a putz on Pseu Braun’s show and I banned him from all bagel stores on the Upper West Side. Then he acted up again and now he’s banned from all bagel stores in the two state area.
I no patience for these putzes that show up predominantly on female DJ playlists pulling nonsense.

Also, about 15 years ago I was in a bagel place near the Barclays Center where the core Brooklyn protests happen.
I’m sitting there, getting my food when this social worker and a very big (as in tall and husky) black man walk in. And she’s clearly explaining to him all of the food he can get there. She points out the knishes and he just cuts her off and says enthusiastically, “Jewish food! I love Jewish food!”
Now THAT is New York.

Conflict is a major source of collective struggle. Quite obviously. So with that context, stop naming "things" with and representing "culture" through the public dime!
Should public money be used to celebrate specific political figures or historical perspectives? NO!
Should public money be used on facilities or other objects named for select political ideologies? NO!
Conflict is a major source of collective struggle! Yet, egoistic group-think insists on shooting us all in the foot. In the name of posterity. In the name of division.
