	9:26am ParUbi: The first half was translated by Joseph Kresh. The material from 1914 on was translated by Martin Greenberg under the guidance of Hannah Arendt. I don't have the German open next to it, but really haven't felt the need to. It's moves back and forth between the nightmarish and quotidian. The dreams are really interesting, and I just passed the point were he met Rudolf Steiner

It's giving me insight on how viruses attack and spread and how the human body - and humanity - respond. History is repeating itself. I'm about half-way through.

Gideon the Ninth, by Tamsyn Muir. Lesbian necromancers in spaaaaaaaaaaace! Because it's still OK to have some damn fun! Good call on Eddison, @sphere! And on Wodehouse! We just ordered $100 in books from our local independent bookstore, and my work is going to reimburse me for them, which is just a really great thing for them to do!

	9:44am Joe non Papa: There was an earlier BBC Wodehouse series called Wodehouse Playhouse. It was presented by P.G. himself. The main actors came out of the original version of Upstairs Downstairs from the early 1970s.
	9:44am Andrew Waterloo: Book Rec: Stranger than You can Imagine by John Higg. He writes about the 20th century with the view that it was driven by changes in human perspective. He also wrote a great book about the KLF.

	9:50am ParUbi: I'm going to put Can Xue's _Frontier_ out there. It's a very strange book, dreamlike and disorienting. It can be frustrating if you're into linear narrative, but it opened my eyes to the range and vibrancy of contemporary Chinese literature. Definitely a trip.

	9:55am βrian: We have a nearby connecting sidewalk bordered on both sides by dense bushes. We often see Cooper's hawks swooping through there at about 4 ft of height, looking to flush out the sparrows who shelter there. It's pretty dramatic if you happen to be walking there.

	9:55am David (in London): @Woods, My brother and his wife live up in Northamptonshire here in the UK, by the canal, with their narrow boat moored at the end of the garden. It's a pretty idylic arrangement.

One of the osprey had a fish so big he had trouble getting airborne. One of the pair dropped a 14 inch shad in my neighbor's yard yesterday

The nonprofits closest to my heart that I'm most worried about are the Brattle and Coolidge Corner Theatres here in the Boston area-- both are amazing independent moviehouses which constantly program wonderful films. Anyone in the area (or otherwise!) can support them by buying gift cards or memberships, and the Coolidge has partnered with some indie distributors for digital rentals.

	9:50am ParUbi: I'm going to put Can Xue's _Frontier_ out there. It's a very strange book, dreamlike and disorienting. It can be frustrating if you're into linear narrative, but it opened my eyes to the range and vibrancy of contemporary Chinese literature. Definitely a trip.
