Hi Nick, Scott and the skeleteam. I'm guessing December 12, 2014.

@Marley Dogg, I am indeed hanging in, thanks! And yes, you should open another bottle of wine
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22am
Crudbringer:

@Nick, well I finally realized there's an app-store app for WFMU (sorry Mark Hurst) and installed it... and there's the ability to "favorite" things, but I can't log in as Crudbringer (like I can here on the browser) - so, like, what's the point of the app?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23am
Ken From Hyde Park:

<pictures Scott with scrub brushes strapped to his feet, skating up and down the hallways>
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am
Crudbringer:

I mean it's not totally pointless - the desktop view is not really usable on a phone - just seems weird that you can't log in (and I don't get how Favorites work). There are options to log in to Twitter, Facebook and Last.fm... but not FMU.org itself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am
Marley P. Dogg:

Crud - you can comment On the app without logging in - but if you want a profile pic/marathon icons you have to log on in the website

Matt S.:

Wait, why did the forklift company make that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am
coelacanth∅:

i had to look at december 12, 2014 to see why i didn't click that Trane star. i'd clicked the episode star.

@MPD - you wouldn't believe how generous many of our listeners were during the Marathon, not only with the pledging and the volunteering, but with the COFFEE! Thanks to Fletcher at Oslo, Karen in Sleepy Hollow and Coffee Labs, and Melinda in Portland ME, we are stocked for some time! As for food, I'm one of those takes care of himself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32am

Awright thx for checking me guys. I went outside today so I may have the damn virus so don't look at my pixels too long, or wear safety glasses or something. Thanks Nick and Scott and all you skeletons for keeping this juggernaut rolling during these dark days - such a lighthouse for the mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Before I switched to an unlimited data plan, I'd download a recent archive of some show before leaving home and not worry about eating into my data plan.

(i've asked this before but) Ken can you keep that archive indefinitely? is it "128AAC" or "128MP3", or something else?

I'm pretty sure you can download an archive to your laptop, I believe I did so in the before time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I don't know what format the app uses for an archive. About 180 MB for a 3-hour show. Seems to store them forever. Only the app can access the files.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42am
coelacanth∅:

there's no link to do it, ngh, do you remember how?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44am
coelacanth∅:

hmm, 180 seems very small for 3 hours.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45am
Marley P. Dogg:

Scott - on your advise I have opened another bottle of wine - glad to hear you guys have provisions over there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48am
coelacanth∅:

my reason is that there are some episodes i know i'll want to revisit but the pop up player that the archives are reduced to -aside from not sounding great, are problematic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49am
coelacanth∅:

-i'd just as soon store the whole show in the best format available
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50am
coelacanth∅:

(and it sounds like the application download compresses it even more)

coelacanth∅@ On a Mac I rip audio using Audio Hijack, it'll grab the audio off any stream. Likely there's a PC app that'll do the same. So play the show off the achieve and rip it while it plays.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24am
coelacanth∅:

Aitch Thanks i appreciate it but that is where i'm at already! i have a cd burner that records in "real time"...it's just i usually don't get to listening to a whole 3-hour archive within 4 weeks, and at 4 weeks the quality of most fmu archives plummets.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27am
coelacanth∅:

haha mariano - the funny thing is i didn't watch that much television growing up, and pretty much not at all by the age of around 9-10 (?) but my sisters watched it constantly...so i know that reference incidentally!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32am
mariano:

It was a favorite with the grownups when I was a kid. I liked it ok, but I was more of a Hollywood Squares and Price Is Right guy. Oh, and Gong Show.
  1:34am
BH:

what are the betting odds for "first host on here to play Bob Dylan's 17 minute long track about the JFK Assassination"?

because it sounds like a weird weird track
Avatar 1:43am
Fox:

Hello everyone!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am
coelacanth∅:

i liked "concentration", and hollywood squares... the newlywed game... i find clips of the gong show amusing now but barely ever saw it then.
my mother watched jeopardy! and that's it. when wheel of fortune came along it followed jeopardy and she discouraged us from watching it! she didn't really need to!
my father watched no game shows, ever, as i remember.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am
coelacanth∅:

hi Fox
  1:45am
BH:

i'm 6 minutes into "Murder Most Foul" (the Dylan track I mentioned), there's 10 minutes left in this somehow. This is probably the exact right time to release this?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58am
coelacanth∅:

i probably said this >5 years ago but this program is killer!
  1:59am
BH:

anyways.. I'm hearing thunder outside in my part of the country.. among other things
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01am
mariano:

That does sound like a trip, BH. That's right, Newlyweds, coela - I miss 70s TV. Hope you're feeling better, Fox.
  2:03am
BH:

The most concise way I can react to the Dylan song is... "it exists for some reason". It will not be the weirdest part of this week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06am
mariano:

Wait, this is what they used for the Deja-Vu sketch on Python's Flying Circus, I'm sure of it!

Mariano- i am pretty much the same, but not worse! That's something. I'm still cleaning amd rearranging. And whooooo boy i do not know how to properly cook with weed. Or maybe i DO.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39am
Scott Williams:

Yo Fox! Here we are again, eh?
  2:39am
Nick Name:

Hey Fox! thx for all the help during marathon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44am
mariano:

@Fox - Glad you're holding steady. For the cooking, a friend tells me you have to put it in oil or butter and keep it on really low heat for a good while. Can stink a place up. Oil's easier, but butter tastes better.
Avatar 2:45am
Fox:

Hello Scott! Hello Nick!
Avatar 2:47am
Fox:

Mariano- i have only cooked with the burnt leftovers of post-vaped weed, and did as you explain.
Avatar 2:48am
Fox:

But using freshly ground fancy weed is far more potent than id realized.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51am
mariano:

Glad you have something better than leftovers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59am

Time for me to hit the road, friends! See y'all again Sunday night; I believe you'll have Daisy here at the helm for you tomorrow night. Nick, excellent show as always.
