A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

SO WHAT’S SCARIER THAN THE VIRUS?

The Mob Mentality . . . Which is being Caused & Ramped-Up by a Shameful Media with Every Passing Day, as each Individual Media Scrambles to be the First to Sensationalize what is Already a Far Too Sensationalized Event.

If The Media Doesn’t Tone It Down Substantially . . . Society Will Shut Down!

Then What? . . . What will Happen if People Refuse to Go to Work? Especially in the Food Industry? Without Food Preparation-People . . . Who will Produce what we Need to Eat? If the Truckers Decide Not to Deliver . . . How will the Food get Delivered? If the Grocery Store Workers Decide Not to Work . . . Who Will Stock the Shelves – Are You Getting The Drift?

I think Venice has really suffered from those massive cruise ships that do the 'tour' of European ports. I was talking to a guy in Split in Croatia, which also is on the stop map, and he was saying that basically the city doesn't even get much from them. They disgorge thousands of people in a short space of time, but because they get all meals inclusive on the boat, they stroll around for a few hours, then get back onboard, and don't even pump much money into the city's economy. Anyway, sorry, rant over.

@DIL: Us too. We figure at least one order-in per week. Pet food supplies, of course, must be maintained. We are fully aware of what the cats think of as "Plan B."

Our neighborhood bookstore has a second location -- in Jersey City! When we went to volunteer at WFMU Sunday night, we stopped off there, and I bought a book IN NEW JERSEY! It was a thrill. (I am an enormous dork.) Also pretty much the last time we did anything "normal"!
