1. August 5: Because I retired from my work on August 1, my colleagues had arranged that I could do a radio show of one hour on 40upradio: 40upradio.nl...
2. September 25:
September 22 there was a very impressive article in my newspaper about Philip Kroonenberg, a Dutch singer songwriter who has made a complete album about the cancer of his wife (she survived). I searched for gigs and there still were tickets for the premiere of the album the following day! It was a concert I will never forget. For me it’s the album of the year and for the first time in my life I wrote a review that was published in Platenblad.
3. November 2:
"Arthur (or the rise and fall of the British empire)” should have been a radio play in 1969 by Ray Davies of the Kinks. That radio play never happened in 1969, but the songs were released on an excellent Kinks-LP with the same name.
50 years later the (new) radio play was broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
I was stuck to the radio for 75 minutes. Beautiful.

Book - Elizabeth Gilbert’s City of Girls. Normally I ignore such fare but loved the escape in to the 1930s New York theatre scene and listening to a woman’s life wisdoms.
Album - I’m behind so much this year on music but Lana Del Rey’s Norman Rockwell album was great.
