Yeah. Lots of stalling on the Drummer stream. It's frustrating for folks doing radio AND those listening.

@rich also on Sunday mornings on this fine station is serious moonlight sonata three hours of bliss
I am so used to doing radio during FCC 'safe harbor' that I hate having to screen music for obscenity. Did a show before 10 once on regular radio and let a 'shit' go through and ended up in 'radio jail' for a stint.
Yep. Especially if someone files a complaint with the FCC.
Although, we were taught that we can play absolutely anything after 10pm except the EAS signal, nothing is indecent during safe harbor, but we can't randomly swear ourselves. We can say 'That was Anal Cunt..' but can't say those words randomly.
Stations can sort of individually interpret those things themselves, outside of the hard Safe Harbor rules. My station used to push it from a free speech perspective but now are probably much more respectful of hateful, hurtful speech, etc, sexist references, etc.
Jason, some DJs here restart their system before every show, so prevent what happened to you this morning. Maybe something everyone should get in the habit of doing.
I think one of my DJ friends coined something like "The FCC's nothing without U in the middle". We had no love for them, especially after a ridiculous landmark obscenity fine in 2000 (which we beat the rap on) and it had been headed by Colin Powell's son during the W years.
I've been lucky, but seems like many drummer DJs been having trouble streaming too. That's really weird that the SAMcast said you're connected when you're not. Is there a chance you were connected to a wrong stream? Think I did it myself before in Studio C.
I listen to the Drummer stream quite a bit throughout the week. They've had this recurring stalling thing where it switches to the auto playlist but then seems to recover quickly. Really just a few seconds at the most.
I wasn't aware having have to deal with international students has such rewards. Glad to hear that as a former intl student. Sorry that your Thai-resource is gone but I'm sure you'll get another one soon enough. Japanese intl students seem to be scarce on the other hand, these days!
@Rich thanks for bringing me up-to-date. I was totally behind this tech glitch conversation going on the drummer circle this week. Maybe I'll just play all glitchy music tomorrow and pretend whatever happens is part of the show.
Hi everyone, hi Jason. Just heard bits and pieces today. I heard you saying that this was a strange show. Well, mine will probably fill just in line with that...
