Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from August 2, 2019 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Having grown up next door to guys who were dealing smack, and watching all their shenanigans, I'm Waiting For My Man needed no clarification, except the line about PR shoes. What the hell were PR shoes? I grew up in L.A. I knew nothing of Puerto Rican street style. By the time I got to NYC it was all about sneaker pimps.
