what it does is harden the enamel, making the teeth more resistant to bacteria, so for the short term it works. in the long run what it does is harden the bones...in other words, brittle. then the teeth break much more easily as you get older.

The reason they ended up being a New Orleans thing is that during World War II, sugar was rationed nationwide, and every plant in various states shut except for NOLA, which was in a sugar growing area, and sugar was also imported through the Port of NO, so somehow (people wonder whether legally or not... haha) they managed to keep going in NOLA, at the factory that later burned down.
For those who don't know, McDonalds handheld pies are kind of an homage lol -- They're super sweet...

Felder based the song on a track he worked on for the Eagles 1979 album The Long Run, which turned out to be their last studio album until 2007. That song, with the working title "You're Really High, Aren't You?," didn't make the cut, but Don remembered it when he was asked to work on the movie. He told us: "It was really written specifically for that movie, but I used a lot of the track that I had written for an Eagles song that had never been finished. I'd said, 'Hey, those are great parts. I'm going to use these parts and I'll use this title for introduction, and I'll write the lyrics based around this graphic, and there we go.'"
