	11:56am Otis Fodder: I have jackhammer city worker noise complaints right about now Linda, they have been tearing up the street in front of my place for weeks. The cat now is even like, whatever, this is the city, feed me again.

	11:59am Jan Turkenburg: I fled my house today as well, because breaking up streets & digging noises too. Then I spent way too much money in a second record store....
	11:59am Linda Lee: gosh, sorry, Otis. i do remember the up-close jackhammers from my 30 years in nyc. don't think i could manage it now. in the mountains too long.

	12:00pm Linda Lee: interestingly heard a very sensible explanation for evangelical christianity last night, from the British actor James Fox. he took leave of a very successful movie career after the film 'Performance' to join the Navigators & study scripture seriously. took some lowly work, free of the comfort zone. he spoke well of the experience.

	12:02pm Otis Fodder: @Linda - Long-term plan is not more than a decade left in the city (where I am proper on a busy street) to a small place in the country.
	12:02pm Jason Elbogen: Fab, it's funny, but a couple of songs on the double lp do really sound like SUN Ra....
	12:02pm Rich in Washington: Where I live, it's sometimes someone randomly firing up a chainsaw, someone steps out their backdoor and fires a few shots from a gun, a big pickup tears down the road really loudly. Plus, I am sure our hillbilly neighbors have lots of unexploded fireworks from last night, which I am sure they will take care of right about the time I go on air today.

	12:04pm Otis Fodder: Some righteous numbers here for sure. Really like this one, 'He Has Seen A Vision'... Fab, def hearing a Sun Ra performance vibe here.
	12:04pm Otis Fodder: Oh and speaking of 'performance'... love it and they put out a coffee table book that I has been on my want list since last year.

	12:06pm Linda Lee: my favorite film, i think. 20 years after the fact, when Fox talks about Chas .. he takes on an attitude. fascinating.

	12:07pm Mr Fab: Barrance Whitfield's Sun Ra tribute album is on my wish list. (Along with about a million other things)
	12:09pm Otis Fodder: Ha, I know Rich... you are up high too in the mountains. I have a lot of love for small towns and country life and the noise sure is a different bag then city noise.

	12:09pm Mr Fab: Wow, "Dear Mr. Small Man" was real outsider/private press (song-poem?) stuff. Does mr World's Worst Records know about this one?
	12:10pm Linda Lee: a friend & i went to see it on first release in theaters. big stones fans. couldn't make it out at all. (11 years old. enough said.) now i see a masterpiece! i've been around the block some, of course..
	12:11pm Rich in Washington: @Otis: At least it's not a constant din, which I quite grew used to when I was an urban dweller, but out here, in frontier-land, everyone has their own unique loud footprint. It can be nice and quiet, and then suddenly something loud.
	12:12pm Linda Lee: that's my neighborhood too, Rich. we don't have the same filters here, either.
	12:13pm Otis Fodder: @Rich - That's a good example/comparision. Too many footprints here. 2 car alarms today, alone... usually there is one a week but 2 today. And of course it took someone about 10min to get to the second one.
	12:13pm Linda Lee: it's enough to send me back to town! :-D
	12:14pm Otis Fodder: I'm so numb to it now. I have adapted work to the sounds of the city. When I make it out to the country, another adaptation will occur to the silence and bursts.
	12:15pm Rich in Washington: I'm glad though that our county has come down hard on fireworks in recent years. It used to sound like WW2 out here, with hillbillies and the like setting off huge explosions from late june to well after the fourth. They've limited sales to just a few days before the 4th and limited the days that one can set them off to the evening of the fourth. Not that that stops all of them, but it's really limited it, for which I'm thankful. We've lost two cats on separate 4ths and had an old dog who would be absolutely terrified during fireworks.
	12:16pm Rich in Washington: Sounds corny, but at least the city seemed to have a rhythm to it. You could sort of put music on and tune it out.
	12:17pm Mr Fab: Mrs Fab and i were a bit unnerved when we moved from North Hollywood to a more quiet suburban 'hood in the Valley - we couldn't sleep, it took a bit of getting used to
	12:17pm Rich in Washington: and despite all the above, it's actually quite quiet up here most of the time, for which I am grateful.
	12:17pm Otis Fodder: @Rich - Fireworks and pets. We have summer fireworks here once a week now at 10pm and every week, the cat here freaks out and talking with fellow pet owners it is a subject we commiserate on.
	12:19pm Linda Lee: it really is all about our filtering capabilities ~ our resilience! there are ways to help our poor animals see through the 4th. "rescue remedy' & similar. it's just a shame we have to.

	12:00pm Linda Lee: interestingly heard a very sensible explanation for evangelical christianity last night, from the British actor James Fox. he took leave of a very successful movie career after the film 'Performance' to join the Navigators & study scripture seriously. took some lowly work, free of the comfort zone. he spoke well of the experience.

	12:02pm Rich in Washington: Where I live, it's sometimes someone randomly firing up a chainsaw, someone steps out their backdoor and fires a few shots from a gun, a big pickup tears down the road really loudly. Plus, I am sure our hillbilly neighbors have lots of unexploded fireworks from last night, which I am sure they will take care of right about the time I go on air today.

	12:11pm Rich in Washington: @Otis: At least it's not a constant din, which I quite grew used to when I was an urban dweller, but out here, in frontier-land, everyone has their own unique loud footprint. It can be nice and quiet, and then suddenly something loud.

	12:13pm Otis Fodder: @Rich - That's a good example/comparision. Too many footprints here. 2 car alarms today, alone... usually there is one a week but 2 today. And of course it took someone about 10min to get to the second one.

	12:14pm Otis Fodder: I'm so numb to it now. I have adapted work to the sounds of the city. When I make it out to the country, another adaptation will occur to the silence and bursts.
	12:15pm Rich in Washington: I'm glad though that our county has come down hard on fireworks in recent years. It used to sound like WW2 out here, with hillbillies and the like setting off huge explosions from late june to well after the fourth. They've limited sales to just a few days before the 4th and limited the days that one can set them off to the evening of the fourth. Not that that stops all of them, but it's really limited it, for which I'm thankful. We've lost two cats on separate 4ths and had an old dog who would be absolutely terrified during fireworks.
	12:16pm Rich in Washington: Sounds corny, but at least the city seemed to have a rhythm to it. You could sort of put music on and tune it out.
