Usually you create these pages well in advance. I found your other show on mixcloud and added it to my queue. I also followed your little used account there.

Not glitchy here, Fleep.

Got ya. It’s weird to me that Sony Legacy never bothered to release the Mississippi John Hurt Okeh recordings and instead licenses them out. I was able listen to many of the original acetates when my friend used to work at Sony Legacy.

This VU inspired by Uncle Michael's 300th show theme?

Musta been some day...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32pm
Little Danny:

Nope! Didn't know of that, Dean. Hullo friend
  10:33pm
Dean:

Ha! Mere coincidence, then. The entire playlist, not counting the obligatory "Albatross," consisted of songs called "One of These Days."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm
doctorjazz:

Cale must be doing most of the note playing, Reed the feedback (Can't picture Reed being able to play that many notes)
  10:40pm
Dean:

I'm hearing Borbetomagus and Hijokaidan at Victo in what's now playing, sax and guitar. Doesn't match the playlist. Something amiss?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm

(Sometimes my phone seems to be out of sync (behind) with what's playing...I'm hearing one tune while the playlist is on to something else)

Dean, there was a cult of self-destruction, never understood that aspect, but what a creative time. So much energy and a lot of brilliant people.
  11:39pm
Dean:

I agree with your second sentence, geezerette. As for the first, well, that's not an issue, at least not in America, exclusive to LA punk.
Avatar 11:43pm
geezerette:

Dean, thought about that while typing. Not saying it was exclusive to punk, but there really was peer pressure to take extreme physical risks. Part of the aesthetic.
Avatar 11:46pm
geezerette:

Best thing to me was the anti-corporate attitude.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm
Franco Twinkie:

I have a young friend (He's only fifty!) He got into the scene when hardcore was an aspect of the de-evolution of punk in LA. He says he made lots of bad choices in shows to go to. I never went to that stuff in the OC. or the south bay. I was far removed from the stupidity by then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm
Little Danny:

Okay, thanks Matt! At least I remembered THAT correctly
Avatar 11:50pm
geezerette:

Franco, yeah, surf punks, skate punks; kind of a gang thing in some places.
  11:50pm
Dean:

Not in my (nervously managed) experience. No different to me than ordinary high school stupidity. Darby, sure. But Alice Bag? Tomata? Others? Not so much.

I most appreciated the tributes to apathy. Not caring is such a crucial value.

To my mind, punk was long gone by the time hardcore emerged in OC.
