@Santos L Halper - pretty intense. Sparse crowd that thinned out considerably during "Chinese Flying Saucer > chaos" but they missed a great Pink Lady Lemonade (disco version). Apparently they had to cut the set short, but played a great Cometary Orbital Drive for 20 minutes after they said "ok, one more song" Sometimes it was too many notes to comprehend, but the drums kept me grounded. The new singer seems to sing very expressively in a made up language. Talked to them very briefly after - they seemed exhausted. According to the tour schedule they're playing every night for 2 months without a night off. Couldnt tell while they were playin

I visited Mississippi Records 2 weekends ago. It was really great. I asked the clerk if he could recommend their most out and weirdest tape. He asked a few clarifying questions. Once he realized I could handle it he said "I've got the tape for you" and went in back and came back with a mix tape of out Indian recordings. It was a very fun experience.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm
Rich in Washington:

tim from champaign: The label sold to a couple of guys who were more or less affiliated with the label who are based out of Chicago, I believe. The owner Eric is retaining ownership of the store, which I guess was always a separate entity, businesswise. He posted something somewhere (not sure where I read it - as he's somewhat of a Luddite where social media is concerned) assuring people that the store is remaining, as people assumed the store was being sold as well.
