the only time i went to the record fair was my first ever volunteer stint, in 2013, when they still did it in autumn. i impulse-bought so much stuff i had to UPS it back to myself for like 150 bucks

Wow! Glad to be doing no active water flow minimal plumbing work. The drain pipe that had cracked on Friday by bumping it with a vacuum attachment (bad sign just there) cracked and cracked as I removed it.

Now a new tactic, go to the hardware store and plead complete ignorance, and ask for advice.
