The 90s are kind of a blur for me... I won't disclose why. :>) Nice show, Pseu. I love Todd!!!!! I saw him at the winery last year for the first time. Finally.

@davehamilton, I was joshing. Pseu has infinitely better sources than I could ever hope for. I haven't heard Vampire Weekend and Beirut in years and they reminded me of my eMusic subscription from that time.

When there's so much good music out there, why play his stuff? I know it was years ago...but still...

It was years ago, and regardless of how you feel about Harold & Maude, just let it go, @Listening

I guess these things just never happened. Yeah, that's it. [Sipping Koolaid]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
Hughie Considine:

It would be a pretty half-assed act of integrity to not play "Here Comes My Baby" by a 20 year old Cat Stevens because of what he later said and then later renounced. Fight the good fight, not this one.

If we can't separate the person from the art here in the FMU listening world, then where can we?! Anyone up for some Charlie Manson?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm
Krys O.:

Used to have that exploding head symptom occasionally when I was younger and also had petit mal seizures. I also was a sleepwalker. Don't have those any more, but I have to contend with myoclonus, mild cervical dystonia, and ocular migraines. I feel for you, Pseu!

Cat Stevens song made me think of Rushmore movie. (RIP Seymour Cassel)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm

Saw him play with B.A.L.L. at their reunion. Bob is a great painter too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Pseu, I used to have to deal with stuff that I guess may have been EHS but wasn't diagnosed. I started taking an anti-convulsant for another issue a few years back and don't have that EHS-type thing anymore
  1:49pm
Marie:

I enjoyed hearing that C. Stevens song. I am for separating the art from the artist. I see it as a personal decision and I would not want to keep the art from anyone else because I object to what its creator did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
Pseu Braun:

PB - I take an anti-convulsant already. Damn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
Krys O.:

Sad about Seymour. I stupidly left my VHS copy of Minnie & Moskowitz in a compact TV/VCR hybrid unit that quit working and was picked up for electronic recycling. :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm

I gotta say this is Richard Lloyd's finest solo moment...

This song is describing me pretty well and it is eerie.

Marie:

What about Hitler's paintings? Ultimate extreme example. Of course, one could argue whether he deserves to be called an artist, but aren't they interesting as a possible window into his sick, tiwisted mind?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm
KevinfromBayRidge:

That's the point, Keith.
  2:04pm
Marie:

Micah's show plays music made by cults that are often led by criminals.
  2:05pm
John from Florham Park:

If this station wants to play Charles Manson more power to them, I for one will turn that off until the song is past

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm

@Pseu ah. It may not be a connection between the meds and the EHS, if that's what it was for me. Only happened a couple times that I can remember. Was having optical migraines around the same time and they are gone as well. I hope you find a solution.
  2:15pm
John from Florham Park:

I came to "The City" LP late in the game... always heard of it, but didn't hear anything in the grooves until I snagged a very nice LP reissue three or four years ago... Carole King was born to write songs -- such a clever writer.
  2:31pm
Marie:

@ Andrea--yeah, I really like Joe Biden--I think he is an honorable person. I also want to apologize for bringing Hitler onto a pop show playlist... :>)

I have always struggled a little with New Pornos, always felt like I was supposed to like their stuff better than I actually did (Kinda felt that way about Zumpano, too...hmm) But this tune is undeniable. Saw them at SXSW the year this came out. They were great.
