Not outside California, and some places within. Imagine the resentment these days over a holiday for a migrant worker ...

Hi all, new to the comments for this show. REALLY liked that Green Ray track!

Green Ray covered a John Martyn song there from 1968 - Dusty.

So what, a condition of his incarceration is that he not do biz? I thought they were supposed to ENCOURAGE rehab like that.
  1:29pm
Websie:

You are correct, PSOOO!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm

No business allowed, and cell phones aren't allowed in prison. So that's another rule violation.

I thought it was EF DA man.
  1:35pm
Listener Robert:

Then, Switchblade Batman, doesn't that conflict with the rehab aims of prison: preparing people to live honestly in the outside world?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Early cell phones came in a bag because the battery was so big. www.mobilecollectors.net...
  1:36pm
prudy:

fyi: my nephew is in medium secuirty prison. No cell phones. You have to have friends/relatives PREPAY and they can only call those people. Not easy.
Avatar 1:37pm
Doug in JC:

@prudy which is exactly why everyone has cellphones
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
Switchblade Batman:

I think it's part of his punishment that he can't conduct the same business that got him into prison in the first place.

If he wants to be prepared to live honestly on the outside he could learn a trade, like carpentry or welding.
Avatar 1:37pm
jûjû killah:

I wonder if the can do Skype?
  1:37pm
benji:

It’s easier to get drugs
  1:37pm

Drugs are more fun than phones, anyway.

Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been the pharma champion of the world
  1:39pm
Kk slider:

Moving on, can you vape in prison? Juul?
  1:39pm
Listener Robert:

But why would carpentry or welding suit someone like Martin Shkreli? Surely not EVERYTHING he did in business was illegal.
  1:39pm
prudy:

my nephew is not incarcerated because of a drug offense.

I get you guys are trolling Robert, but he wasn't jailed for being a scumbag pharma bro. He's in jail because of securities fraud.

@Doug in JC. Try a couple weeks on the north slope of Alaska. Had to go there for work. No alcohol, no tobacco. Just mud and fog in August.
  1:49pm
Listener Robert:

Exactly. So why can't he just do business from prison WITHOUT securities fraud?
Avatar 1:50pm
Doug in JC:

@Phillippe sounds like prison, but dirtier
Avatar 1:53pm

Finally, someone else knows about Del Amitri. Been listening to them for years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm
Phillippe Bastille:

@Doug Pretty much. They basically told us if we wandered off the compound we were on our own. I was real excited to go, but the reality didn't match up. Didn't even get any northern lights.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm

Was surprised Del Amitri had the kind of success they had -- they were a little under the radar in the US but sold 6 million records globally, if Wikipedia is to be believed.
