When in German someone called me the "queere flute player" (querflöte = flute in German) I won't use the expression again here.

	3:32pm Rich in Washington: I've been watching SCTV a lot lately and there's this spooky library piece from the later episode where an evil entity is turning SCTV people into glitter - the same spooky music is used in Kids in the Hall, the Simon and manservant Hecubus. Man, we're nerds!
	3:32pm Mr Fab: ha, last week I was just ripping a buncha tracks from this Werner Muller album to add to the Sheena stream.

	3:34pm Mr Fab: Ed Woods' "Orgy of the Dead" uses the same music as the great film noir "Angel's Flight." Also from 1965. (As sampled by Messer CHups in the song "Orgia of Dead.")

	4:51pm Don-O: OTIS: actually, you set the Chicago show on 3 CD-R's (I still have them. BTW, Don Joyce broadcast the soundboard copy in one of the 'Lobster" episodes on OTE. Too bad it never got an official release...outside of the Archive.org
	4:54pm Otis Fodder: @Don - Wow, don't even remember, so much dubbing and copying from 1994-1999, my brain went numb. My old stack of 8 double dubbing decks in my Seattle apartment. From 1999-2002, gave 90% of the collection away to friends who would come by in Seattle and donated a bunch to a learning library in Seattle. I have a small handful here to remember that project by.

	5:10pm Rich in Washington: I think I have post-record purge guilt syndrome. I think of all the records I'd have now if I didn't purge over the years. More than I could realistically listen to and enjoy, I'll say that.
	5:11pm Don-O: I also know a couple of tapes with the Intersteller Cafe tile on them. I managed to save those two tape to CD-Rs. A fine mix of lounge and industrial records!!!

	5:11pm Otis Fodder: @Rich - I have moved/lived in a bunch of towns and had many large purges over the years. In the habit still, I purge regularly.
	5:11pm Rich in Washington: I used to see the obligatory 'record collector dude in a roomful of records' pic and wish I had that many, but now, I go - when I see someone like Thurston Moore, etc - I go 'Wow. He could never actually have the time to listen to all those records.

	5:14pm Rich in Washington: I did recently have a friend have a bunch of very irreplaceable rare Jazz records stolen by a person he'd put up to help out. He and the records vanished off the face of the earth.
	5:17pm Rich in Washington: One cool thing about doing a weekly show is that I am exploring corners of my collection hither and yon and finding stuff I'd forgotten about - played a few times, shelved, lost, etc.

	5:19pm Don-O: This reminds me to play Bob James version of ST: TMP from 1979. One of the first 45s I ever bought.

	5:22pm Don-O: Oh, in La La Land Records 3 CD version of ST: TMP, they not only have the unedited Bob James single, but, for the Japanese audience, Shawn Cassidy singing the lyrics to Illia's Theme.

	5:32pm Otis Fodder: @chresti - The radio show helps now to purge. Last year and before when I was absent from radio for 8 years, I made CDR and Digital comps of the best songs from records I purge. Still keep the music, push the media to, hopefully, another home where it will be enjoyed. Or the dump.
	5:33pm Rich in Washington: I have this Pourcel lp, and it's one of those where I just listened to it once, maybe played something on a show, then shelved and completely forgot about it. Again, I need to sort more often.

	5:41pm Rich in Washington: I used to do something like that too, chresti! Back when you could exchange CDs pretty evenly. I think all that ended when MP3 downloads made them lose their exchange value.

	5:51pm Otis Fodder: @Fab - Yessss, there is normally one great cut on every Byron Lee album, and so so so many albums.
	5:55pm Don-O: Looks like I'll keep Discogs in mind when I start to unload stuff, too.
	5:57pm Otis Fodder: @Don - I do that, check Discogs and for anything I can do a good trade/cash with I put aside and know a guy I go through. Otherwise it goes in a free box here and friends stock up when they come over.

	5:10pm Rich in Washington: I think I have post-record purge guilt syndrome. I think of all the records I'd have now if I didn't purge over the years. More than I could realistically listen to and enjoy, I'll say that.
	5:11pm Don-O: I also know a couple of tapes with the Intersteller Cafe tile on them. I managed to save those two tape to CD-Rs. A fine mix of lounge and industrial records!!!

	5:11pm Otis Fodder: @Rich - I have moved/lived in a bunch of towns and had many large purges over the years. In the habit still, I purge regularly.
	5:11pm Rich in Washington: I used to see the obligatory 'record collector dude in a roomful of records' pic and wish I had that many, but now, I go - when I see someone like Thurston Moore, etc - I go 'Wow. He could never actually have the time to listen to all those records.

	5:14pm Rich in Washington: I did recently have a friend have a bunch of very irreplaceable rare Jazz records stolen by a person he'd put up to help out. He and the records vanished off the face of the earth.
	5:17pm Rich in Washington: One cool thing about doing a weekly show is that I am exploring corners of my collection hither and yon and finding stuff I'd forgotten about - played a few times, shelved, lost, etc.

	5:32pm Otis Fodder: @chresti - The radio show helps now to purge. Last year and before when I was absent from radio for 8 years, I made CDR and Digital comps of the best songs from records I purge. Still keep the music, push the media to, hopefully, another home where it will be enjoyed. Or the dump.
