	3:10pm Rich in Washington: Don Joyce sent me the 180-Gs shortly after it came out. It's brilliant. I will have to get it to you somehow.

	3:11pm Rich in Washington: GOD! I remember mailing away for this cassette when I was a kid. I was so flummoxed. I didn't actually know what Muzak meant. I thought it was just a silly spelling of music.
	3:13pm Rich in Washington: Now I love it, but I just remember being so confused about this tape. it was also really cheap and the pressure pad fell off, the ink on the cassette was smudgy, like it was a grease pencil or the ink was wet.
	3:13pm Mr Fab: Hi Otis, hi all! Can't believe I never thought to record "Paul Revere" backwards. I mean, I recorded a slowed-down "Chipmunk Song" after all...
	3:14pm Otis Fodder: Wow, the OG tapes of EZ. I didn't hear about the project until the early 2000s. The recent box set is a beautiful thing.
	3:14pm Rich in Washington: FLRR: That's how they did it on CCR - that's how we all did our shows - remotely. I think the Full Life school is/was really close to KBOO.

	3:15pm Rich in Washington: I remember that rendition of Whip It reminded me of Jack Lalane's TV show. I could imagine him hopping around in his jumpsuit to that song. If you've seen his show, you know what I mean.
	3:16pm Otis Fodder: I really enjoy how most versions on EZ, like Whip It, are only slightly reminiscent of the original.

	3:18pm Rich in Washington: Yeah. Devo was so screwed by their contract that they tried to make money with their fan club items/merch. They could only merchandize certain things, apparently. The catalog was really OG punk/guerilla looking, because they paid for it out of pocket - and I would imagine the merch was also suitably cheap. The cassette was in a paper carton, really cheaply made. I sold it to a fanboy years and years ago, but now I wish I still had it for some reason.

	3:48pm Rich in Washington: I think Trailer Park Records or some similar outfit put out a CD or two called Cashed In, which was all Johnny Cash soundalikes.
	3:49pm Webhamster Henry: My father had a CB in his '73 ragtop Cougar... stolen about 3 times.
	3:49pm Rich in Washington: A friend and I used to play weird tapes and recordings over the CB out of his suburban garage to torment hillbillies. It was fun.
	3:50pm Mr Fab: I have one of the singing lunberjacks' albums, he does a pretty good Johnny too.
	3:50pm Jan Turkenburg: I did have a multichannel Walky Talky on, as a FM pirate station, recieving reuqests from CB-people in the neighbourhood. I played a lot of my Shadows-cassettes :-)
	3:50pm Rich in Washington: We would also take one CB receiver and feed the signal through a digital delay and send it out over another CB. That too was fun.
	3:50pm Otis Fodder: Had to play both sides of this Johnny Sea 7". One of my favorite recent finds.
	3:50pm Webhamster Henry: Putting out false reports of "Picture Takin' Smokies" would help slow down the traffic.

	3:54pm Rich in Washington: CB radio was weird in the 90s. A few friends and I got into it for giggles. It was mainly populated by the kind of people who now troll civil rights events, etc. Just garbagy tweaker type people who had nothing better to do than start fights with people and actually try to track them down via their signal strength meters.

	4:13pm Rich in Washington: Oh, I know, Fab! It's sort of like the 80s era of used vinyl. There's this fresh wave of people dumping their CDs. I'm finding lots of cool stuff I've always wanted to buy, but didn't wanna drop full price on 'em.
	4:13pm Rich in Washington: And I still dig CDs, as both my home setup and the radio station I DJ at are really set up for CDs as well as records.
	4:14pm Otis Fodder: And so much good stuff that only came out on CD in the 90s.
	4:14pm Fortyone: Always pick up a CD or VHS tape when I'm out buying records... well not always but. CDs are fun
	4:17pm Martinibomb: I admit I am a CD hater. I hate that the art is sooooo small. I wish they were bigger like 7" or something
	4:18pm Rich in Washington: Lots of Punk and Alternative stuff came out in the early 90s, like a whole LP with contemporaneous EP/single stuck on. I loved those, like twofer albums.
	4:18pm Fortyone: but they have the cool little booklets...
	4:19pm Rich in Washington: Oh yeah, not an ideal format for art or booklets, etc, to be sure, but so convenient in so many other ways.

	4:21pm Martinibomb: I've done tons of CD art for musicians and it sucks compared to doing LP art
	4:21pm Mr Fab: Remember Rich you don't have to make an actual CD. Just send em the tracks/artwork. The WFMU elves do the actual manufacturing.
	4:21pm Otis Fodder: I have purged a majority of my CDs, ripping them. However, I keep custom-made CDRs, those with special packaging, or ones that hold sentimental value of some sorts, like something a good friend passed me.

	5:13pm Otis Fodder: Yes! That Numero box set is amazing. All 3 albums. Highly recommend it and it can be streamed online in many places. The LP box set is a dream.

	3:11pm Rich in Washington: GOD! I remember mailing away for this cassette when I was a kid. I was so flummoxed. I didn't actually know what Muzak meant. I thought it was just a silly spelling of music.
	3:13pm Rich in Washington: Now I love it, but I just remember being so confused about this tape. it was also really cheap and the pressure pad fell off, the ink on the cassette was smudgy, like it was a grease pencil or the ink was wet.
	3:13pm Mr Fab: Hi Otis, hi all! Can't believe I never thought to record "Paul Revere" backwards. I mean, I recorded a slowed-down "Chipmunk Song" after all...
	3:14pm Otis Fodder: Wow, the OG tapes of EZ. I didn't hear about the project until the early 2000s. The recent box set is a beautiful thing.
	3:14pm Rich in Washington: FLRR: That's how they did it on CCR - that's how we all did our shows - remotely. I think the Full Life school is/was really close to KBOO.

	3:15pm Rich in Washington: I remember that rendition of Whip It reminded me of Jack Lalane's TV show. I could imagine him hopping around in his jumpsuit to that song. If you've seen his show, you know what I mean.
	3:16pm Otis Fodder: I really enjoy how most versions on EZ, like Whip It, are only slightly reminiscent of the original.

	3:18pm Rich in Washington: Yeah. Devo was so screwed by their contract that they tried to make money with their fan club items/merch. They could only merchandize certain things, apparently. The catalog was really OG punk/guerilla looking, because they paid for it out of pocket - and I would imagine the merch was also suitably cheap. The cassette was in a paper carton, really cheaply made. I sold it to a fanboy years and years ago, but now I wish I still had it for some reason.

	3:48pm Rich in Washington: I think Trailer Park Records or some similar outfit put out a CD or two called Cashed In, which was all Johnny Cash soundalikes.
	3:49pm Webhamster Henry: My father had a CB in his '73 ragtop Cougar... stolen about 3 times.
	3:49pm Rich in Washington: A friend and I used to play weird tapes and recordings over the CB out of his suburban garage to torment hillbillies. It was fun.

	3:50pm Jan Turkenburg: I did have a multichannel Walky Talky on, as a FM pirate station, recieving reuqests from CB-people in the neighbourhood. I played a lot of my Shadows-cassettes :-)
	3:50pm Rich in Washington: We would also take one CB receiver and feed the signal through a digital delay and send it out over another CB. That too was fun.
	3:50pm Otis Fodder: Had to play both sides of this Johnny Sea 7". One of my favorite recent finds.

It was mainly populated by the kind of people who now troll civil rights events, etc. Just garbagy tweaker type people who had nothing better to do than start fights with people and actually try to track them down via their signal strength meters.

	4:13pm Rich in Washington: Oh, I know, Fab! It's sort of like the 80s era of used vinyl. There's this fresh wave of people dumping their CDs. I'm finding lots of cool stuff I've always wanted to buy, but didn't wanna drop full price on 'em.
