But for a minor twist of fate, I would, in all likelihood, have studied with Ed Blackwell, too. If my sister hadn't gone to Wesleyan, I surely would have. (I needed to find my own place far from the long shadow of my high-achieving sibling.) Blackwell was at Wesleyan back then. I knew several Wes students who studied with him. I've been jealous for 40 years.
