	10:12pm Erica: I have some advice for you rw: Never go out Christmas shopping on a snowy day, especially if you can't drive and take the bus. It was too cold outside. And if you do, shop somewhere affordable. I went to Target to buy some gifts but the prices were pretty steep.
	10:14pm rw: Dean, I think I've got a Loggins & Messina LP or two that belonged to my ex-wife. I keep wondering whether to get rid of them. I should keep?
	10:14pm Erica: Also if you wish to know what I got, it's mainly stocking stuffers, video games, nutcrackers and kid toys. There was also a T-shirt.
	10:16pm Dean: rw, I selectively enjoy stuff by L&M or L or M, but I really like "Peace of Mind," part of a "Trilogy" on Sittin' In. It's from their debut(?) album, 1971. Really lovely. So, maybe it's worth giving those LPs a spin?

	10:25pm coelacanth∅: Little richard has about 15 over-the-top Amazing, Brilliant, Groundbreaking songs. and that's it! (in my opinion) ...enough to make him the king of rock n roll though! (kidding...i don't believe in such things. but he did step it up to the next level)

	10:26pm Franco Twinkie: Stan Ridgway told me that when he was in high school him and his brother Ken got Bo Diddley to play in their gym. He said they called his house and his wife answered the phone. They asked "Is Mr. Diddley home?" She said "Just a minute. he's under the car." what ever they said worked. They got Kaleidoscope to open the show.

(like "by the light of the silvery moon"...sad!)

	10:35pm Franco Twinkie: I saw Captain Beefheart doing Diddy Wah Diddy on 9th Street West, a local dance show when I was ten, I was very impressed with the drummer, who instead of the name of the band on kick the drum, had a picture of a giant baby.

	11:17pm Franco Twinkie: There was this DJ named Jimmy Rabbit on KRLA in 1969, and he would play Mona late at night. I would lay in bed with my transistor in the dark, with solar systems colliding before my eyes.

	11:25pm Funky16Corners: His later albums, like this and Black Gladiator are largely unknown outside of funk/soul collector circles. Lots of coll stuff on them

	11:28pm Franco Twinkie: Dean, since both you and I saw him open for The Clash, let's be honest, he really just kind of slopped his way through his set. I was disappointed to say the least. I held him in very high regard.
	11:30pm Dean: It was for me a surreal experience, because I was merely familiar with BD, and I had no affection for "old" rock. But it was captivating, too, and I understood the impetus to include him, i.e., to acknowledge his musical contribution.

	11:53pm Dean: Drake is superhumanly prolific. He has produced both excellent and average work. I can imagine less than immediately satisfying music of his. But so what? He is one of the great drummers of our time.
	11:53pm Funky16Corners: A whammy bar on a guitar can produce a similar effect but only for a brief period.

	11:55pm Dean: I credit Steely Dan, again, for ushering in the utter collapse of rock. The Smiths are a good example. Nice, fun, enjoyable stuff. Talented. Capable. Ultimately, though, not all that interesting.
	11:55pm coelacanth∅: i used to have an old ampeg amplifier that had a tremelo setting. i loved that, as well as a spring reverb setting. like an idiot i gave that away.
