And now I want to watch the entirety of Breaking Bad again

Mark R:

I think this VU song makes a lovely companion to the Nick Drake. I still like the John Cale version of the band best, but this album is great, too!

Oh, lookout! Here comes the vinyl!

Loved this movie, the soundtrack mostly, I guess.

Funky16Corners:

It's almost all vinyl. Some is less crackly than others. Love the Cale-era VU but I think that the Velvet Underground album is my fave
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm
Funky16Corners:

@Sem - some great, surprising instrumental tracks on this album

Well, another lunch hour gone to hell, but I'm here for the denouement, anyway.

Sorry about that...

I can never tell the difference any more between DJ errors and Java glitches.

That was a DJ error!

This Ray Lamontagne track is gorgeous, also...

I hardly like anything else by this guy, but I think this record is amazing.

In the headphones, it goes straight through my head meeting up in the middle.

And a little bit of the local vintage to close things out...

I almost never hear Springsteen on any FMU show, ever. It's like a thing.

I love early Bruce, but this song especially as it references two places that are withing five minutes of my house.

Thanks Larry. You made my holiday task much easier.

Brilliant top to bottom. Thanks, Larry!

Generally, I'm pretty positive on the first two Springsteen albums, but I'm afraid all the fans he made with everything that started with the third album have pretty much killed it all for me. Even now, hearing this track, I'm expecting some University of Michigan grad in a plaid shirt to burst into my room and holler 'BROOOOOOOSE!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm

Thanks Larry! Catch you later..
I thought it was Abbot Costello at first

What a yummy fill-in, Larry. Tasty, just sweet enough and satisfying enough to maybe crave a little bit more.
thanks!

Elvis Costello-not Abbot
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm
Parq:

As the National Lampoon once said, there really is no Elvis Costello, it's just Bruce in a dumb suit, dopey glasses and a bad mood.
