Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

We narrowly dodged having U2's "With or Without You" as our slow-dance song. It's . . . not a danceable song.

Hep Cats from Hell was fantastic. He had us on the show once, played our record.
I read the novel, geezerette, a long time ago, shortly after it was published. I recall not enjoying it as much as his reviews and poetry, but recently I considered rereading it. He wrote it to satisfy an ambition to publish a novel before turning 50.
