Hi Friers! @brandon, no, this is the Khakassian Peter Frampton.

A noble attempt at eefing, Dan -- thought I was tuned to the Spazz's show for a sec.

I have no clue about this "Gangnam Style" thing, other than that it's from Korea. Is something wrong with me?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm

Hahah I love how they thanked Bill Monroe right beforehand too

I call this the 1st PunkRawk
...tho' he were 300 lbs. of Not a Punk...
  7:38pm
JakeGould:

Calling it the “1st PunkRawk” seems a bit silly. Howlin’ Wolf was simply great. All of the Chess roster was/is great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Well - people like Iggy & Beefheart realized that it Had Been Done to perfection - & they needed to create their Own Blooz...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm

...the gittar on it too - distorted as all eff - in the *early* 1950s...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm
Dan Bodah:

I still find it kind of bizarre that the Grateful Dead covered Wolf and were so influenced by him. They just sort of fundamentally didn't mesh as a HW cover band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm

Magma!!!!!

JakeGould:

@DanBodah: My feeling about a lot of bands that tried to be blues bands. Except for Canned Heat. I think they got it! But I love Howlin’ Wolf.

JakeGould:

Ever listen to Cream’s version of “Spoonful?” So bad!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I'm all in for Cream - but it's a different animal...not a huge amount of lead guitar in classic Blues...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
chris:

thanks, Dan! much fun.
  7:58pm
JakeGould:

The Rolling Stones got it better than all. Led Zeppelin is odd. I still like them, but Page’s vocals with blues tunes just seem funny to me nowadays. Jimmy Page got it though. TAHNKS DAN!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
Dan Bodah:

@Jake yeah, I agree about Cream's Spoonful, even though I do like some of their stuff. But actually, I don't really think it's a very good song even when Wolf sings it! Sacrilege, I know.
