Similar thing happened to me last year too ngh. Very few kids came to my house for candy last year and now this year more have showed up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11pm
Funky16Corners:

We had a slightly above average attendance this year. We live in a small neighborhood off the beaten path (no sidewalks) but lots of young families now
Avatar 10:12pm

I also wore a hippie costume to give out candy too. I also gave out goodie bags and Cheez-It crackers too.

The best I today was trim the spiky vine tendrils that dangle over the sidewalk in front of our house so no innocent child would get their face slashed. No one comes up to our front door, I't to creepy.

Avatar 10:58pm
still b/p:

Allan Sherman cuts have the nostalgia value -- heard a bunch as a kid, but even material I didn't hear untll adult years gives such a guffaw with such simple shtick. He turns "Joshua fought the battle of Jericho" into "Yasha got a bottle of Geritol," and fuggeddaboutit, I'm crackin';up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm
Funky16Corners:

I love Allan Sherman. I was introduced to his stuff by my fourth grade teacher and now that I'm older I understand the humor (and the music) much more

I honestly never watched the Blackula films. I just heard about it from the Simpsons and one day I found the movies on This TV back in 2009. I just couldn't believe that it was a real movie series.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm
