Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am
Cal Zone!:

Michael Shelley was talking about a new Stax box yesterday
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am
Funky16Corners:

The 1968 one?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am
doctorjazz:

Have the older Stax boxes, great stuff !
  11:12am
Dean:

Heh, I just emailed Michael Shelley, because the context of his discussion was a record by Dino & Doc. He queried whether or not the group was predominantly Black or white. Very little written about the one-single duo, but via Discogs I traced one of the songwriters to The Fabulous Dinos, a Black group.

Yes, the 1968 box.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am
Cal Zone!:

I think so....its a newer collection and it includes everything Stax including all of the weird sub-label stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am
doctorjazz:

Of course, if you have all these 45's you just buy your own box.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am
Cal Zone!:

The original Stax Box is fantastic. A treasure trove!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am
